Owners of a boulangerie-pâtisserie in the North of France, Céline and Vincent decided to leave everything in 2010 in order to realize their Scottish dream. Their destination was Edinburgh, and they soon opened up La Barantine in the Bruntsfield area. At La Barantine, our aim is quite simple: offer a typical French experience to our customers, alongside our delicious gâteaux prepared on the premises by our ‘si français’ staff.
Following the success of the first café, a second one was opened in August 2014. It is situated in the heart of the bustling Grassmarket, a hub for tourists and locals alike. Since this day, both Barantine cafés have been providing customers with breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea with an inimitable French touch.
In December 2017 the third shop and production site opens at 10 Bruntsfield Place giving us the opportunity to make our own artisan bread following a family tradition.
February 2018, La Barantine Stockbridge becomes the fourth shop in Raeburn Place. To be continued..
